East Asian Pop Music from Japan, Korea and Hong Kong.
Jpop stands for Japanese pop music. Jrock stands for Japanese rock music. For those of us who have listened to Jpop/Jrock, or for those who are fond of Jpop/Jrock, and even for those who are freaky enough in Jpop/Jrock that they often think that they would die without listening to Jpop/Jrock for one day (yup, that's me heheh) , we must have known the reasons for why we think Jpop/Jrock is attractive, and rules our soul.

Well, after thorough listening and listening for maybe like around 3 years, I would definitely certain that the main reason for why Japanese music (Jpop/Jrock) is quite attractive is because of, one word, : variation.

Musically speaking, in my opinion, most - if not all - Jpop/Jrock music have variations in many things, like:

1.chords usage (in each song, always have this 'nice' or even 'unusual' chord, that big probability you'll never find it in most American pop/rock songs. eg: augmented, diminished, major 7th chords, or even as freaky as Fm7+ stuff! ) . Check out Judy and Mary (JAM), one of my most favorite Jpop band! in their album, you'll often find those nice chords in EACH song! oh how fun and pleasant it is to listen to such great effort!

2. rhythm or model usage. check out L'arc~en~ciel, or Shiina Ringo. They both are just few examples of Jrock bands, that don't play only certain type or model or rhythm in their music! They vary a lot in their compositions! eg: ranging from 3/4 meter, to 4/4, to 6/8; from heavy rock, to sweet poppish rock, to slow ballad........one thing: you'll guaranteed never to get bored when listening to these rhythm variations!

3. melodic usage. maybe people rarely notice about the incredible melodic usage often found in many Jpop/Jrock bands! But they DO often use nice melodic line. Well, let's see...how to describe this in the easiest way....ok, basically, the melody is NOT monotone, it MOVES a lot! it often jumps, skips, and goes back step by step again. I mean, it's just so variative. Example: listen to L'arc~en~ciel's "Pieces" ooooh.....how nice is their melodic usage! sometimes the melody (which sung by the vocalist Hide) jumps, sometimes it pauses, and sometimes it moves step by step.

Well, in short, I'd just salute Jpop/Jrock for their creativeness, and it's like it never ends! That's why I decide to dedicate this page special for Jpop/Jrock. Well, I hope this page would mean something to those who view it, and would hopefully make people becoming more appreciative of Jpop/Jrock music!

Have fun exploring!

Korean PoPMusic
As the Webmaster of KPopMusic.com, I welcome you to the K-pop music world. We welcome any person who has an interest in the popular modern Korean music and the other related things that this site has to offer. To start of this introduction though, let me simply define 'K-Pop Music'. K-Pop is short for Korean pop. The now commonly used Korean term for this style of music is 'Gayo'. Although gayo really means any music in the Korean language, it has become commonly used to refer simply to K-pop music and is short for 'inky gayo', or popular music. So what is the big deal anyway? Well not only has Korean Pop Music become ever growingly popular in Korea, but it has been gaining much fame world wide as well. Korean Pop Singers, or Gasoos in Korean, are know for their unique and hip style of music. Gasoos take all kinds of music, especially from Western styles, and add their own twists and styles to it. If you ever come to Korea, you will see how wide spread these styles are. Every other kid can break dance (I can do all the basics, windmills, flares, turtles, freezes, etc.), and most everyone wants to see the stars or even be a Gasoo themselves. The music combines all the great music from around the world and turns it into a spectacular form of art.
Well, that is what this site is for, it is for all those die hard Gayo lovers who can't get enough of their favorite stars. Here, you can see tons of photos of them and listen to and buy their music. You can find out all sorts of interesting background information on them, and even find out what the latest gossips and news are. You can get in touch with the other fans out there and much, much more. The possibilities are endless with this site because you the viewers can control what goes on here. Yes, that's right, this site could not and would not be possible if there weren't all the fans, so we need your help to keep K-Pop and this site going.
